Our 8 out of 10 rating applies to the 335-horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 in the confusingly named A8 55. Other versions are more powerful, and we’d rate them higher if rated separately.

No matter what’ll be underhood, the A8 makes use of a taut multi-material structure that pairs aluminum with steel, magnesium, and even carbon fiber to shed weight and add rigidity.
